and Administrative Assistant between 1955-1956 in the preparation of
regulations and the curriculum.
Military Service: As a
reserve officer in Ankara and Devrek in 1950-1951
Standard Turkish
National Keyboard: Since 1930s his wishes to eliminate the problems of
working with the keyboards which are not appropriate for the features
of Turkish Language, which are not standard and which include
different letter concordance continued with his efforts as a teacher
after 1946. The concordance which he created after the practices and
exercises lasting 10 year in the Education Institutions with the data
from the Turkish Language Institution was submitted to the Ministry of
Education and was handled by the higher authorities only in 1955. The
ideal keyboard for the touch system in Turkish prepared by the
Commission of Experts reinforced by the foreign experts that he
belongs as an executive and the spokesman was accepted as “the
standard Turkish keyboard” on October 20, 1955 by the
Inter-Ministerial Standardization Committee. The transformation of all
the typewriters in Turkey into the national keyboard appeared after
the annexation of an article to the Customs Code in 1963 and its being
accepted as the “compulsory standard” by the Turkish Institute of
Standards. We have been benefiting more from the efficiency of the
Standard Turkish Keyboard as the installation and the importation of
the computers whose importation had been performed randomly after
those years, started to be performed with National Keyboards.
The Typing
Championships in Turkey and Abroad: He broke Izmir record in the
typing competition organized by Izmir Association of Journalists with
108 words per minute on July 19, 1941. After he became a teacher, he
organized İstanbul Typing Championship on May 24, 1947 and the first
Turkey Typing Championship on May 18, 1948. Continuing to organize
these championships every year systematically he organized the 40th
World Stenography, Typing and Computer Championships and Intersteno
Congress in Istanbul in 1993.
He continued his works
on “education, development and preparatory” for the entering of the
Turkish competetiors to the World Typing Championships and ensured 28
Turkish teenager to be the World Champion with 14 records in 38 years.
In the branch of
Stenography: He broke a record which could not be achieved for long
years by typing 436 syllabic speed in a minıte in the “Stenography
Competetion” organized by İzmir Association of Journalists on July 20,
1941. He developed the Turkish adoptations of the French Duployee, Ai
mee Paris and Prevost Delaunay systems by adapting them to education.
He enabled the current Turkish Steno to be typed faster by adding some
of the rules of the British Pitman system to it. As a result of the
agreement with New York McGraw-Hill
Corporation Gregg Division in 1958 he adopted Greg steno into Turkish
and started its education at the administrative assistant schools in
Istanbul, Izmir, Adana and Bursa between 1958 and 1962.
Italy Reward of Social

systems, Italy the Academy of Stenography and Typing awarded him with
the Guiseppe Aliprandi Great prize of “SOCIO ONORARIO” on July 13,
1987.
After the fact that the
machine steno supported by computers provides faster and easier
simultaneous reading when compared to pen steno became significant in
developed countries in 1980s; for the adoptations of these systems
into Turkish the trial practices were carried out after the agreements
with SPS “Software Products and Systems Corporation” in Sofia in 1991
and the American Company “Stenogeaph” in 1992.
Vocational Courses
(private): He established the “Typing Secretary Courses” on July 19,
1954 in order to train personnels who can meet these requirements with
efficient and developed techniques since there has not been any
official or private institution which provides complicated office
training in Turkey betwwen the years 1953 and 1954 and since the
necessities of stnograph, typing, secretaryship and acounting are met
by uneducated people and with inefficient techniques. He adopted the
principle of developing the mehods of teaching continously by
comparing his own methods with the methods used in the developed
countries in the world and made his best students to appear in the
World Honor List in Milona in 1957, in Viyena in 1959, in Wiasbaden in
1961, in Prag in 1963.
Its name was registered
as “Champion Typing and Secretary Courses” after the event that its
first graduate (Ece Özbayrak) had become the World Champion in Typing
on July 25, 1965 in Paris. Rejecting to give an education with
American Keyboard performed by many other institutions in Turkey, he
gave a start to the practices of using the national keyboard in
computers. On October 6, 1984 he gave a start first to the Basıc
programmig training and then to the Touch System Training in Computers
(with the name of Typing with computers) with the national keyboard.
Thus its name was registered as “Champion Typing Secretary and
Computer Courses” in 1985.

Committee annually and the Genereal Congresses biennially in various
countries.

electric and electrical Typing and Computer Competetions of the
Championships and as a result of the efficient practice methods used
in the offices, the developments in the teaching methods in the
congresses and the attendance of all activitees of the federation he
was elected by consensus as the Chief Executive of the Federation in
Brussels in 1991 and it was determined that he would organize The
Championship of 1993 in İstanbul. As a result of the appreciation of
these activitess and upon the suggestion by the Head Committee He was
elected (by consensus) to be the Intersteno Honorary President of the
General Board of International Federation of Information Process.
